Mothers, Home & the Pieces We Keep

It's not always visible.
It's not always celebrated.
But it's constant.
I love the idea of a gift that becomes part of daily life… a wool throw draped over a favourite chair, wrapped around shoulders on cooler evenings, there for the small, ordinary moments that end up meaning everything.
The pieces we live with quietly gather meaning over time. They become part of our memories of people and place, woven into the feeling of home.

For those of you with grown children, I imagine Mother's Day shifts over time too. There must be something incredibly special in watching your children build lives and families of their own, while still knowing the role you play remains constant.
And for those of you now supporting daughters, daughters-in-law, or friends stepping into motherhood themselves, perhaps this stage brings a different kind of connection too. A deeper understanding of just how much love, strength, and care motherhood asks of us.
And perhaps, it's also a reminder to ourselves. Mother's Day doesn't always need to be about giving to others. It can be a moment to pause and recognise the role we continue to play in so many lives — simply by being there.
Wishing you a gentle and meaningful Mother's Day, whatever it looks like for you.
